Crystal & Glassware
Glass is a magical substance, formed out of sand and fire, that has been molded to serve mankind in innumerable ways. Unique in its transparency, color, and sparkle, its brittleness nevertheless makes it very vulnerable to breakage.
The Problem
Crystal can be damaged in numerous ways: it can be chipped, cracked, broken, scratched, and stained. All glassware isbrittle but of all household items and collectibles, no objects combine such intrinsic fragility with such high rates of use and frequent cleaning as stemmed drinking glasses.
The Solution
Remove rings & jewelry before washing crystal. Wash stemware in warm soapy water – never in the dishwasher. Place a washcloth in the bottom of the sink. Never pour hot liquids into crystal glasses or bowls. Do not store crystal stemware resting on its rim. Take precautions with leaded crystal.

I am writing to let you know that I agree with your statement regarding the Pairpoint vase. Yes, your reduction of the chipped base and subsequent polishing are outstanding. Thank you very much!
